State Line Liquor Store is open

For the first time in over 3 years the State of Idaho has opened a new liquor store. The new store is located almost directly on the Washington/ Idaho state line near Post Falls , in the tiny town of State Line.

The store which is located directly next door to Lew's Smoke Shop at the corner of Seltice Way and Wellesley Ave. has been open for only a couple of weeks now and was a direct reaction by Idaho to Washington State's Liquor Privatization laws which we're passed by voters and put into place in June of 2012. The new laws allow stores such as Wal-Mart and Costco to liquor but with higher prices and taxes then Idaho.

The new laws have clearly inspired more then a few Washington residents to make a run for the border for their liquor needs. In fact the existing Post Falls Liquor Store by Domino's Pizza near the corner of Seltice Way and Spokane St. has reported huge jumps in sales making it one of the busiest liquor stores in the State of Idaho.

Even with the new store the current Post Falls Liquor Store and another Liquor Store in Post Falls located at Hwy. 41 and Seltice also plan to stay open. Area Idaho Liquor Stores are also located in Coeur d' Alene and Hayden.
