MOD Pizza anchored strip mall planned near Airway Heights

More development is coming to the West Plains with a new commercial plaza being planned to be built at 9746 W. US 2. The new development will eventually be a pad site for the new North 40 Outfitters store, which will be built soon at the corner of US 2 & Deer Heights Rd.

A Google map showing the approximate location of this new strip mall, North 40 would be just north of the site.

Permits have yet to be issued and the site is currently in the Pre-Development Application level with the City of Spokane. The plans call for a 8,800 square foot strip mall style structure, however at this level the plans are not set just yet.

Once built the building will have 3 bays, one listed as for a medical office, another listed as just " available ", and one more that is identified as a future MOD Pizza location. Plans also call for a drive thru lane and a 44 stall car park with 2 electric car charging stations. There is no construction time line posted as of yet, however with a tenant shown in the plans it is a project that is likely to happen based on past experience. Watch for more posts about this project and posts about the planned Airway Heights North 40 Outfitters store in the future on this site.

Large new apartment complex adds to the skyline west of Downtown

If your commute takes you to points west of Spokane proper, you may have noticed a couple large new buildings on the horizon by the I-90 / US 2 interchange. These are part of large new apartment community that is moving along at a rapid pace at 1403 S Assembly, right at the top of the Sunset Hill.

The buildings are part of what will be a 144 unit complex in 3 buildings with a separate clubhouse, tentatively called City View Apartments. This is actually just one of several new multi family developments going up now all over the Spokane area, with a few more currently being planned.

The apartments are being built by locally based developer Bill Lawson and his company A&A Construction & Development. Once complete the project is estimated to cost approximately $24.7 million.

North side Waddell's Brewpub & Grille to remodel and become 5 North Brewing Company

Big changes are coming to a popular North side restaurant and brewpub. The North Spokane location of Waddell's will close their doors on Monday ( Feb. 24th ) to allow for crews to renovate the business, which is located at 6501 N. Cedar Rd. in the Cedar Crossing commercial development.

They plan to re-open on Feb 28th under a new name, 5 North Brewing Company. The interior of the restaurant space will be updated and a new upgraded menu will be released upon the re-opening. The business however will maintain the same staff and as is evident by the name they plan to continue to brew their own in house beers.

The renovations are an update to the business which is transitioning to full ownership by Brumback Company. It is important to note the change does not affect the original Waddell's location on the South Hill, that location will continue on as Waddell's Neighborhood Pub & Grille at 4318 S. Regal.

Work continues for a new Domino's Pizza anchored mixed use building in Downtown Spokane

First mentioned on this site almost a year ago, work is now well underway for a new building in Downtown Spokane. Plans call for a 6700 square foot mixed use building to be built on the southwest side of the Third & Howard intersection. The new building is replacing another older, smaller restaurant building, that was a number of businesses in the years leading up to it's demolition.

The new building will be used primarily by Domino's Pizza and Pacific Pie,Inc. which is the majority franchise holder for area Domino's Pizza locations. Pacific Pie will relocate their offices to the building due to the sale of their current older building, which is also on Third in Downtown Spokane. Also, the corner of the building on the ground floor will be a new Domino's Pizza location.

There will be a 1700 square feet space that will be available for lease, possibly to another restaurant. The project has a $940,000 estimated value and is being built by general contractor Yost Gallagher Construction of Spokane and Mercier Architecture & Planning of Spokane Valley providing the architectural design.

Work progressing on the new Euclid Logistics Center in Spokane Valley

Industrial real estate is a hot commodity in the Spokane area. So much so that he recently released 2020 Winter Market Review & Outlook from local brokerage Kiemle & Hagood identified a low 2.0% vacancy rate among industrial properties in the Inland Northwest.

Business want to come to Spokane, and projects like the new Euclid Logistics Center which is now under construction in Spokane Valley are making sure they have the room to do business when they get here.

The Euclid Logistics Center is being built adjacent to the Spokane Business & Industrial Park of off Euclid Rd. Currently what is being built will be a 120,000 square foot concrete tilt style building. However the center is planned to be a much larger project. Once complete, plans call for four buildings with approximately 500,000 square feet of available space.

We reached out to inquire about what businesses might open in the new facility, but it is still too premature to release that information. However we will keep an eye on this project to see what comes and just how many new jobs this may mean for our area.

Space is available for lease now, with marketing being done by Crown West Realty, who is also the building owner and same company that leases space in the Spokane Business & Industrial Park itself. Space is shown as available at 0.65 per square foot NNN with completion in the coming months. More information can be obtained on http://crownwest.com or by calling Dean Stuart with Crown West at 509-924-1720
