New quick service restaurants join Downtown's Crescent Court building.

Downtown Spokane is about to get two new restaurants. Spokanewich and Tio's Taqueria have spent several months now renovating a 1380 square foot space on the Skywalk level of the Crescent Court building ( 707 W. Main ) into what resembles a small food court with the new locally owned and operated quick service eateries.

Both new businesses will open for businesses on Monday, July 6th and have small menus that are perfect for a quick but delicious meal. Tio's Taqueria has a menu that focuses on street tacos with Carne Asada, Pastor and a few more items. Additionally Tio's will serve Sopa, chips & salsa and drinks including Mexican soda.

Just a few feet to the left of Tio's Tequeria is Spokanewich, and as the name implies they sell fresh sandwiches, in addition to drinks and custard.

The space used by Tio's and Spokanewich was leased by John Hillier of SVN Cornerstone. This is just the latest new business to open in this area. The Crescent Court building has several more spaces available, just waiting for a new business. It surely won't be long until we're all meeting " under the clock " at The Crescent once more. For info on opening a business in the building contact John Hillier ( 509-939-8094 ) or Jesse Fox ( 509-850-2805 ) with SVN Cornerstone or visit http://svncornerstone.com

Construction is underway for Spokane's first Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A is coming to Spokane, for real this time. There have been many rumors and a few times it looked like they we're coming, when they really weren't. But, permits are in and physical construction is happening now on Spokane's first Chick-fil-A restaurant location.

Photos are used with permission from the Bring Chick-fil-A to Spokane Facebook page http://facebook.com/bringchickfilatospokanewa . Thank you!

Site work is largely done and as seen in the pictures some foundation work is happening at the site. It does still have a few months worth of work to go, but this is progress. No opening date has been announced just yet for the business, which will be located at 9304 N. Newport Hwy, just north of The Y at the corner of Newport & Hoerner Rd. .

Plans call for the restaurant to be built directly next to Newport Hwy with a drive though lane circling it on the west side and a 80 stall parking lot on the east side of the property. At this time, this is the only planned Chick-fil-A location coming to Spokane.

Vieux Carre NOLA Kitchen, Cajun restaurant planned to open in West Central Spokane

Our friends over at The Inlander are reporting that an historic building on W. Broadway in Spokane's West Central neighborhood will soon be home a new restaurant called Vieux Carre NOLA Kitchen. The restaurant will be just a stones through north of Kendall Yards at 1403 W. Broadway, a historic building that has been under renovation from some time now.

The new restaurant will feature New Orleans based food and atmosphere and will feature a full bar. The project is still ongoing but it is planned open later this year, and we hope to have more in a future post on this site.

Once the renovations are complete the building will also house Gamers Haven, a gaming store that is relocating there from the Valley. We have also heard a barber shop and other small tenants are likely to open on the building's second floor.

Western States CAT planning an equipment dealership in Liberty Lake

Western States CAT is a full line CAT equipment dealer that already has locations around the Inland Northwest and elsewhere in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana. And, now it appears they are in the planning phase for a large new dealership coming soon along I-90 in Liberty Lake.

The company is now in the SEPA application process for a 127,364 square foot facility at 20150 E. Cataldo on Liberty Lake's western edge. The site would require a short extension of E. Cataldo from the neighboring Camping World RV dealership and would also be accessible via a gate at the end of Harvest Pkwy on the north side of the parcel.

According to the documents included in the SEPA application construction is estimated to start in or about August and be completed in early 2022. Included in the plan is 46,000+ square foot equipment shop, 15,000+ square foot parts warehouse, 15,000+ square foot hydraulics and spec shop in addition to office space, support space and a shipping and receiving area. The facility's property will also include 178 surface parking spaces and outdoor equipment display areas.

The project could still be modified as it has not been fully permitted just yet, but we do expect to see this development come to fruition sometime this Summer.

The hard working crews from Silvey Construction are wrapping up the construction for a new 10,800 square foot professional building at 1222 N. Pines in Spokane Valley.

The new building is currently in shell form is geared toward the medical industry due to it's close proximity to Multicare Valley Hospital.  The structure is located just north of the corner of Pines and Boone and is adjacent to an office building that Silvey built a few years ago, which is now fully occupied by Providence Family Medicine.

Large business park planned in Airway Heights, further positioning the region for growth despite economic uncertainty of COVID-19

It's no secret, the economy has taken a hit and even now there is some uncertainty about what's next. But one local real estate company, AT Industrial is bullish about Spokane's future. The company recently announced they are planning to expand their commercial real estate portfolio in Spokane by building a new business park called West McFarlane Business Park, which will be in Airway Heights.

Construction is set to start sometime within the 2nd quarter of this year and is to be complete in early 2021. Upon completion the facility will feature a 187,000 square foot structure offering class A industrial space, heavy industrial zoning and 480V 3-phase power. This new business park will be located at 12315 W. McFarlane Rd, nearby the Spokane International Airport and  the Exotic Metals Forming Co. building, which is another local expanding company.

The West McFarlane Business Park could house up to 12 tenants and is being marketed , in part, towards national e-commerce businesses. AT Industrial has worked in larger markets like Seattle, Boise and Sacramento allowing them to recognize market trends they intend to bring back home to Spokane. Among the project features is double-sided loading as well as excess land that can be used for truck trailer parking or outside storage. These are just some of the features that make a property attractive for companies who need to fulfill that important " last mile distribution ".

Additionally the business park is being built within the Airway Height Opportunity Zone, which encourages new business through tax advantages, which means the business park building can be built at a lower than other developments in the region. These savings they say will be passed along to the tenants with leases anticipated to be 10-15% lower than at other local business parks.

AT Industrial is based in Spokane Valley and was formed by experienced real estate executives Tim Wolff, who recently retired from his operating role at the prominent Spokane real estate firm, The Wolff Company, but remains active on it's investment committee and Aaron Lake, president of Leavitt Capital. AT Industrial already owns over 700,000 square feet of industrial property in the Spokane area.

We plan to continue watching for more news on this project. And, for more info on this project and other AT Industrial projects, visit their website http://www.atindustrialco.com
