New restaurant to open in old Muffler Shop in Downtown CdA ( Photo )

The design work is ready and some construction work has already been started on Downtown Coeur d' Alene's next exciting new restaurant.

For the last few years, a small auto repair shop, has sat among the primarily tourist driven Sherman Ave. strip of Downtown Coeur d' Alene. But only a few months back this building's tenant , known as TNT Mufflers , closed up shop leaving the building vacant. A plan was hatched to add onto the building creating a small bar and a coffee shop up front. Those plans appear to have changed, and now plans are moving forward to use the entire space for a new taphouse style restaurant.

The building will undergo an extensive remodel and will re-open a Crafted Taphouse in the spring of 2014. The motto on Crafted Taphouse's Facebook page is " bringing a new vibe to Downtown Coeur d' Alene this Spring" . There is no menu posted as of yet but the restaurant is said to offer primarily American fare with a good beer selection, as is traditional with the taphouse style. Gabriel Cruz is currently listed as the executive chef for the new taphouse.

Design work on the space is being done by HDG Hissong Hurtaldo Design Group of Spokane who's impressive portfolio of projects also includes , The Cellar , another popular Downtown Coeur d' Alene wine bar / restaurant and Fire Artisan Pizza which is almost next door to Crafted. HDG recently shared this rendering of the purposed finished product on Facebook to show what Crafted Taphouse will look like once opened...

Crafted Taphouse will be located at the corner of Sherman Ave. and 5th St. , we hope to find out more about this new business soon. Until then if your looking for more info on Crafted Taphouse visit-
