Newspaper article hints Whole Foods may come to Spokane soon

It's probably the most wanted chain to come to the Lilac City, and it's been a rumored new business opening for a few years. But, it looks like we may be able to say that a Whole Foods is coming to Spokane sometime within the next few months.

Last week's Spokane Journal of Business had an article about new specialty grocery stores in the works for Spokane. And, in that article the local business newspaper quotes Susan Livingston, a Whole Foods rep., with the news that Whole Foods is now looking for a site to open a store somewhere in the Inland Northwest.

No site have been chosen as of now, but this is very positive news for the Spokane area. We will keep an eye out for more Whole Foods news. And encourage you to read this exciting new article about the local specialty grocery boom-

Whole Foods had planned a Spokane store in SoDo Spokane a few years ago before the economy started to fail causing the chain to back out of that plan. There has also been a rumor that Whole Foods may go in, at or near Kendall Yards.

And, while Whole Foods does not have any open locations in our area yet. It's extra important to note that a similar, locally owned and operated business still exists here in Spokane. Huckleberry's Natural Market,  which is located on the South Hill at 926 S. Monroe.
