Red Lion River Inn has become part of Ruby Hospitality and big changes are coming

Spokane's last Red Lion branded hotel is changing and joining part of a cool locally owned and operated hotel brand. The Red Lion River Inn on Division is converting into the new Ruby River Hotel, which will be part of Ruby Hospitality. This is the same company that operates the Hotel Ruby and a few other establishments and is owned by local developer Jerry Dicker.

Red Lion had been leasing the hotel from the Dickers but decided against renewing the lease. This was the last Red Lion branded hotel in Spokane, the Hotel RL has since been sold and is now The Centennial Hotel and a third Red Lion on the top of the Sunset Hill rebranded recently as a Quality Inn .

The new Ruby River Hotel will undergo a major renovation to include all public spaces, restaurant and lounge, banquet space, guest rooms , pool and the building's exterior. The renovations are geared to "bring the outside indoors" and play upon the hotel's great position right along the Spokane River. Room renovations will give rooms a clean modern design. Also they plan to add an expanded outdoor heated pool, hot tub, cabanas, social fire pit and a lot more. Renovation begins immediately and will be done in phases with the hotel remaining open during the project.

The restaurant space will be remodeled, rebranded and re-named. When it re-opens it will operate as the Onyx Kitchen and Bar featuring American cuisine with an Asian fusion element. The restaurant will have an all new menu, expanded covered outdoor dining and a relocated bar area.

The Ruby River Hotel, located at 700 N. Division, has 245 guest rooms and suites, over 3000 square feet of flexable meeting and event space, two outdoor pools, tennis court and more.
