In the first half of 2023, Muv Fitness announced plans to renovate the former Albertson's store at 510 E. 37th Ave. on the South Hill into a new fitness center. But somewhere in the last three plus years that project clearly got sidelined as many have noted little activity at the site, with possible opening dates come and gone. It's not known exactly why the health club chain couldn't pull off opening there, but it now looks pretty confidently that the former grocery store at the corner of E.37th Ave. and Grand Blvd. will not become a Muv Fitness.
This is because last week the building at 510 E. 37th Ave. returned the market, listed as "for sublease" on NAI Black's website. The building could be redeveloped into a number of commercial uses with just over 39,000 square feet of space on a just over 3 acre lot. The site includes the stand-alone store, and surface parking lot.
