Lots happening with Downtown Coeur d' Alene's businesses

On a recent walk I took around Downtown Coeur d' Alene I discovered that as usual with the warmer weather and tourists in town visiting Downtown's many destinations brings many new shops, small business finding new homes and even in this case a new bank to Downtown. Here are some of the business changes in the Downtown Coeur d' Alene area in recent months, some i've reported previously here on Inland Northwest Business Watch, others are new, some even to me....

Porky G's BBQ has taken over the Memorial Field food stand along Mullan Ave. inbetween the Downtown core and North Idaho College.

Ameritques is a new 30+ vendor antique mall that has opened in the 200 block of N 4th St in Downtown Coeur d' Alene, the mall moved to the new storefront from Silver Lake Mall

A switch in toy stores is probably the most noticeable change as Figpickels Toy Emporium has moved into the Coeur d' Alene Resort's Shopping Mall on the corner of Sherman and 2nd St.  In the place that Figpickels was, a new toy and candy store has already opened. That new store is Shenanigan's Toy Emporium and is located next to Sherman Square Park directly on Sherman Ave in the heart of Downtown Coeur d' Alene.

Another Bank is opening in Downtown Coeur d' Alene. Idaho Trust Bank which had been on Northwest Blvd in the Northwest Place office building has moved into the 600 block of Sherman across the street from the Resort City Inn motel.

ROW Adventures has opened a second store directly across the intersection of Sherman and 2nd Ave from their main store. The new ROW Adventures offers local river tours as well as bike rentals for tourists and locals alike to explore Coeur d' Alene.

In all the good news about the businesses of Downtown Coeur d' Alene the French/Asian Restaurant Lemongrass on Lakeside Ave. has closed.

Cultivation Counciling  has opened in the 200 Block of West Coeur d' Alene Ave near the Coeur d' Alene   Athletic Club's Gym. And in the same building as Edward Jones.

Across Coeur d' Alene Ave from Cultivation and next to Terry Lee Art Studio / Gallery is the new location of Bombshell Salon . The salon had been on 4th St. prior to moving.

Pauli's Tattoo's has opened in the storefront where Studio 107 had been in the 100 Block of N 4th St.

Studio 107 a unique Gift / Jewelry and Wine store has moved onto Sherman Ave in the 500 Block,Taking the spot that last was Barrel Room No 6 Wine Bar.

Barrel Room No. 6 Wine Bar has left Downtown Coeur d' Alene to their parent wineries location off of Kathleen Ave in North Coeur d' Alene.

Daisy J's Trading Co. moved into a smaller space in the Coeur d' Alene Resort's Mall. But the move won't be for too long it looks as Daisy J's is opening a store in Riverstore as well.I'm unsure if the Downtown store will stay open but I can only assume they will move it.

Artist Co-op store/ gallery Northwest Artists in the 500 Block of E. Sherman has closed.

Downtown wine bar The Wine Cellar will open soon in there new location which was the former Icon Bar. The Wine Cellar had been in the basement of the building next door. The bar is in the 300 Block of E. Sherman by All things Irish.

Coeur d' Alene City Council Member Steve Adams has sold and closed his State Farm Insurance Agency nearby to Downtown on East Sherman.Mr. Adams has joined another Insurance firm elsewhere in Coeur d' Alene.

Vacation Sports Rentals has opened it's boat /jet ski ,etc.. rental location on 3rd St. just North of Downtown Coeur d' Alene.

As you can see lots is happening in Downtown Coeur d' Alene. And some things I may even have missed,I'm also watching progress with some other Downtown projects including the hot news item of McEwen Park and the owners of Salon Bella Dona who are making some changes.More on all of that, and much more coming soon....
