Where the Halloween stores will be in our area...

Despite 90+ degree temperatures and poor air quality as I’m writing this we’re actually only a couple of months away from fall and Halloween. And as you may know, in the weeks before Halloween, several vacant stores fronts in our area fill up with locations of the Spirit Halloween chain.

So, while they don’t open for a little while from my writing this ( on Aug 15th ). Here is where the Spokane and Coeur d’ Alene area Spirit stores will be-

In addition to Spirit Halloween stores a Halloween Express store will open again this year. They will be in the former Hastings store at 1704 W Wellesley Ave. , where they were last year. Party City, with stores at North Pointe Plaza and in Spokane Valley always  dedicates large sections of their stores towards Halloween costumes and decor.

If you want to shop local, which I encourage you to do, Party Palace at 2607 N Division is the place to check out. They also have a large selection of Halloween merchandise every year!

Construction underway for Ponderosa Village, a new commercial development in Spokane Valley

We first mentioned the new Ponderosa Village project back around the first of the year. If you don't already know about this project, it's a cool new commercial development with several buildings to be built along the 11200 block of S. Dishman-Mica Rd in Spokane Valley. The project will be built out in phases and the developers promise to make it a neighborhood oriented center, listening to the wants of the area when bringing in businesses to the site.


The whole project will surround and will be anchored by Barney's Harvest Foods, a grocery store that's already at the site. And, although it's happening a bit later then originally expected, we're happy to report that construction is finally underway!



We stopped by the site yesterday ( 8/15/18 ) and observed substantial site work, and even some early foundation work. And, while clearly it will be some time before any businesses actually open there, we are already learning what will likely be there. One space has been leased to a spa / salon to be called The Mix Salon & Day Spa, and i'm told they will likely have a coffee shop and a restaurant coming that will be announced soon.

Since this project was announced the owners have also acquired a small lot to the east of the grocery store, allowing for the completed Ponderosa Village to be slightly larger then originally planned. When fully built out Ponderosa Village will have 6600 square feet of space, 15 possible retail spaces, and 180 convenient parking spaces.

Updated- Chick-fil-a Coming to Gonzaga

Update- KHQ is reporting they spoke with someone at Gonzaga who claims this information is false. This post will remain as it appeared differently. We will continue to follow and hope...

Second update- Chick fil a says an error with their website caused the listing of a location at Gonzaga. As of now this has been debunked as false but we’re going to leave it here to remember the time Spokane went crazy thinking Chick fil a was for sure coming. And, do keep in mind they still might sometime...

One of the questions I get asked the most is “ when is Chick-fil-a coming to Spokane? “. While we still don’t have an opening date it looks like Spokane will soon get it’s first Chick-fil-a.

This location however will be an on campus location at Gonzaga University, operated by Sodexo who runs all of the “Zag Dining” locations. New Fairfield Inn & Suites now open in Spokane Valley

A full renovation project is complete and now what once was the Quality Valley Suites hotel is now back in business, but this time as the Fairfield Inn & Suites Spokane Valley.


The new hotel is located just south of I-90 at 8923 E. Mission Ave. , by the Argonne Rd. exit. The new Fairfield Inn & Suites boasts 127 rooms and is a franchise location owned by Sterling Hospitality, who are also based in Spokane Valley.


The hotel is the second Fairfield Inn & Suites location in the Spokane area, with another near the Convention Center in Downtown Spokane. This hotel brand is considered a moderate tier lodging option and the new hotel has implemented the most recent Fairfield Inn design. Spokane Brewery Tour opens for business

Craft beer is big in the Inland Northwest, new breweries are still coming on line and many of the existing ones are still growing. Most of us have visited a few, but did you know the Inland Northwest is home to 46 unique breweries and more then 20 of those are located in and around Spokane.


A new local business is making it even easier to discover the Spokane beer scene. A born and raised native of Spokane has now launched the Spokane Brewery Tour, a tour provider that provides safe transportation and takes guests around to at least 3 local breweries. There you learn about the beers, the history of the brewery and much more. All while enjoying the company of like minded beer lovers ( you must be 21 however ).

Tours are offered on various days and are about 3 to 3 1/2 hours long. There is a tour in Spokane, Spokane Valley and a walking tour. Private custom tours are also available and group discounts are available for Spokane residents looking to book a tour for a special occasion.

Etailz completes move to Spokane Valley, Stay Alfred to follow

While Spokane was outbid for Amazon's HQ2 , we are still home to several awesome companies that are growing. Two such companies are even expanding their HQ's here by moving into a formerly under utilized large building in Spokane Valley .

Etailz,Inc. is a large partner site, selling goods on Amazon, Jet, Ebay, Wal-Mart, Wish and Alibaba's websites. The company is actually owned by the much larger Trans World Entertainment of New York, but the main Etailz HQ is here in Spokane. Well, now Spokane Valley.

Etailz is now in a 40,000 square foot space within the from Itron building at 2818 N. Sullivan Rd. In Etailz's case the company is already operating out of the new facility, where they employ about 250. Previously the company had operated in a much smaller office space at the McKinstry Station building nearby Gonzaga. With this new move Etailz now has 4 times the office space, while still enjoying a casual, sort of hip working environment.

Also, coming later this year to the building at 2818 N. Sullivan Rd. will be the HQ of Stay Alfred. This company is unique business currently headquartered in a smaller building on Sprague Ave in Downtown Spokane. Stay Alfred operates travel apartments in 25 US cities and is known for leasing cool and upscale places in lively locations. It was even recently announced that Stay Alfred will operate one floor of " The M " apartment building in Downtown Spokane. The concept is somewhat similar to Airbnb, VRBO but still a bit more cool and unique.

Within the former Itron building, Stay Alfred will occupy a little more then 37,000 square feet with likely much of the same office features as their neighbors at Etailz. Stay Alfred will likely move in later this year as construction permits we're issued just last week for the build out of their offices.

Indigo Urgent Care to open in former South Hill Cafe Rio space

A couple of months ago we we're the first to report that Multicare was bringing their Indigo Urgent Care chain to Spokane. Construction is already underway for that location which will open in October at 9420 N. Newport Hwy. This will be in a new construction building that also houses a BECU branch and a TBD retail space.

But, as we speculated the Newport Hwy location won't be the only one coming to our region. That's because Indigo is also working on a South Hill location, which doesn't have an opening date set just yet. The South Hill Indigo Urgent Care will join the Regal Plaza development at 4803 S. Regal St Pad C, which is also known as the former Café Rio restaurant site.

Indigo Urgent Care is a chain of urgent care clinic that are considered to be high-end. To date they have 16 other locations all of which are in Western Washington. Patients receive coffee, gourmet cappuccino, free wifi, charging ports and are handled by a concierge. They also promise to have all of the latest medical equipment and knowledgeable staff to get patients through the process quickly.

For convenience Multicare's Indigo Urgent Care locations are open 8am-8pm 365 days a year. They are set up to treat minor health issues for patients of all ages.

Montgomery Logistics Center to rise in Spokane Valley

Seattle based Leavitt Capital Companies is no stranger to Spokane. The company owns a handful of properties locally and has a regional office in the heart of Downtown Spokane. But, it looks like now they are looking to increase their footprint in our region.

That's because we've recently uncovered that Leavitt is planning to build a new industrial complex in Spokane Valley called the Montgomery Logistics Center. This new complex will be built in phases and will be in the 11000 block of E. Montgomery, west of Pines Rd. It will actually be adjacent to the Central Business Park building which is a 500,000 square foot former distribution center also owned by Leavitt Capital and is now home to PepsiCo, Skagit Farm Supply and few others.


The Montgomery Logistics Center when fully built out will be a 139,600 square foot industrial and warehousing hub in 3 buildings. The first of which will be a 64,000 square foot building that is currently in the permitting phase and will likely be complete sometime next year.

Space will be leased out and can be demised down to 10-15,000 square feet if needed. Among the amenities will be 30' clear heights, 92' - 120' truck courts and loading docks, ESFR sprinklers and much more. Pre-leasing is underway with spaces going for 0.69 per sq foot NNN.

There isn't any word about who the tenants might be at this new complex but with low industrial vacancy rates it likely will fill quickly, meaning more new jobs. Construction to begin for new hotel at Spokane International Airport

It's been a year this month since we first caught wind of a plan to open a new hotel at Spokane International Airport. This amount of time is not a complete surprise with permitting, financing, etc.. these projects do take time. But, now we're seeing that construction is actually about to begin.

The new hotel will be part of Springhill Suites by Marriott chain, unlike the Staybridge Suites name that was mentioned early in the process. This new hotel will be the closest lodging option to the terminal and will be in what is currently part of the Airport's parking area. We're told actual construction on the hotel should begin in September and Airport personnel have already blocked off this section of the parking lots. The new Springhill Suites hotel will be in-between the car rental area and the Ramada hotel, near the parking exit plaza.


Tharaldson Hospitality Management of Fargo,ND is developing the hotel, which is scheduled to open in the last half of 2019. The new Springhill Suites will be a 4 story building with modern looking architecture and 110 total rooms. An indoor pool, fitness center and a business center will also be included in the finished building. Tharaldson is also currently developing a Staybridge Suites hotel at Coeur d' Alene's Riverstone development which has been under construction for a few weeks now.

The new hotel project is due in part to recent increases in passenger traffic at the Airport, with several new flights now flying out of Spokane. Some might be concerned about the removal of parking spaces at a growing airport. However they are quick to point out that the airport is currently working on a large expansion to the economy parking area which will create 1300 new parking spaces near the corner of in-bound Airport Dr. and Flint Rd. . Major renovations are also in the works for the near future within the terminal and we expect to be hearing more soon about the airports gas station/ c-store / fast food development planned along another section of Airport Dr.

This will be the first location of the Springhill Suites by Marriott chain in Spokane, although there is one not far away in Coeur d' Alene. The chain operates over 350 locations, all of which are all suite hotels and geared towards the upper-moderate lodging segment. This will be the third hotel on property at Spokane International Airport, with 165 rooms and the Wingate Inn & Suites with 83 rooms.

Construction starts for new Panda Express in Post Falls

Construction has officially started for a new Panda Express location in Post Falls / State Line. Millennium Construction Group of California has started working on the site and foundation for the new restaurant which should open later this year. This will be the 3rd Panda Express location in Kootenai County.

The new Post Falls Panda Express will be out front of the State Line directly at the corner of W. Pointe Pkwy and Baugh Way. This is the first commercial construction in the Pointe at Post Falls development in some time.





Opening day nearing for Dan Dickau's The Barbers new Spokane Valley location

Former Gonzaga point guard and NBA player Dan Dickau is expanding his local empire of barbershops with a new one opening very soon in Spokane Valley. The shops are part of the larger The Barbers chain of barber shops, which are far from your average barber shops.

With over 30 locations around the all around the Northwest, The Barbers says they are "bringing back that old fashioned barbershop experience for men of all ages" . The new Spokane Valley location will feature TV's for sports, cool décor like framed jerseys and even a pool table. Multiple barber stations get customers in and out quickly and at a fair price. Men's cuts are $20.95 , with a " the works " cut being only a bit more at $24.95 and a few other services are also offered.

But, of course with the opening of a new location there will be discounts, great discounts! From when they open on Aug 7th through the end of August they will offer hair cuts for only $5!

After 2 robberies in 2 weeks The Mascot Pizza seeks the community’s support this Saturday

For a small business just 1 robbery can be hard, but The Mascot Pizza has been the victim of 2 in just 2 weeks time. The business, while still a new business, has gathered a following for their delicious pizzas, sandwiches, wings, salads, appetizers and more.

So, they are asking for the support of Spokane this Saturday 5-8:30p. During that time they'll have some yet to be announced specials to bring more people through the doors to help recoup there losses. The specials will also extend to delivery which is available with 5 miles of the restaurant. The Mascot Pizza is located in the Logan neighborhood at 730 N. Columbus.

New multi-tenant building coming by Global's HQ Downtown

About 2 years ago Global Credit Union acquired the 5 story Freeway plaza office building at 1500 W. 4th on the west side of Downtown Spokane. The credit union has done a number of improvements to the building and now uses much of that building as it's HQ. But, Global Credit Union is planning to invest in the neighborhood as well with a couple of new projects currently in the pipeline.

Just to the north of the Global HQ building plans are currently in the works to re-develop their site at the corner of Third & Walnut. Plans call for re-developing the credit union's current drive thru structure into a coffee shop , likely also with a drive thru. But, apparently further along is Global's plan to build a new 3 bay retail / restaurant strip building at the corner of 4th & Walnut, just south of the Global HQ building.

They hope this new building will be built yet this year. The center would be a 4900 square foot structure with the address of 1505 W. 4th. It would be built on a mostly vacant lot the once contained a drive up coffee stand. Some new surface parking area would be added to fulfill the needs of the new buildings tenants. However, the plans have the new structure directly at the corner with parking on the side and at the rear.


There is no word on who the tenants might be for this new building as it appears to be being built on speculation. The 3 tenant spaces are about 1600 +/- square feet each and one space can have a drive thru lane attached. Kiemle & Hagood is already pre-leasing for the new development with the spaces leasing for $26 - $30 per square foot NNN .

It's official- Amazon is building a fufillment center in Spokane

There has been much speculation about this, and honestly most locally assumed the "Project Rose" construction site on Geiger Blvd. was for Amazon. But, as of this morning we can now confirm that this project will be an Amazon fulfillment center.

The new Spokane Amazon distribution center will have a 600,000 square foot footprint and will be a multi-story facility employing around 1500. With all floors included this new Amazon center will have over 2.5 million square feet of floor space. It will encompass over 80 acres of land at 10010 W. Geiger Blvd just off of I-90 and just southwest of Spokane International Airport. Site work has already begun at the site and some roadway improvements / public transit adjustments are also in the works to serve the massive site.

While the center will open with 1500 employees, those numbers will likely increase during peak seasons as well and employees will enjoy benefits from day one. This new Amazon Spokane Fufillment Center is estimated to be open for business in late 2019 and hiring will start next year via http://amazondelivers.jobs

Indaba Coffee Roasters planning another location in Downtown Spokane

Indaba has come a long way since their opening in 2009 as just a single location coffee house in Spokane's West Central neighborhood. Nine years later that same location at 1425 W. Broadway is still keeping an otherwise underserved neighborhood caffeinated with delicious espresso, coffee, teas, pastries and so much more.

But in those 9 years a lot has changed too. In 2015, Indaba branched out for their first time, opening the still open Indaba location on Howard St. in Downtown Spokane. More recently they have also opened 2 small coffee bars in Kendall Yards in spaces shared with other businesses and even have a location called their Sky Bar which is located in a skywalk in the city center.

And, now a second full Indaba coffee shop location is in the works for Downtown. They are now working on creating a new location at 518 W. Riverside next door to Dodson's Jewelers. This new location will take the Indaba brand one step further as they also have announced the addition of Chef Andrew Larson to their team who will lead a food program that will begin at the new W. Riverside location.

The new W. Riverside Indaba is to open this fall and will of course have much of the same menu as the other Indaba locations. But they will also offer up an artisan toast menu and light brunch menu on Saturdays. They say as Downtown grows they will expand their food menu right along with it. Also the new location will have Seraphim pour overs and will even have 8 taps for beer, wine, cold brew and Kombucha.

Costco and other new businesses to check out this weekend....

Chances are if your reading this site you like to check out new stores and restaurants, and this upcoming weekend will be prime for that with several grand openings happening. Here is what's happening where...

Ye Olde Hock Shoppe

This new pawn shop will have their grand opening on 7/21 from 7-7. They will be open to buy, sell and loan. They are located at 9315 E. Trent in Spokane Valley

Costco

It's finally time, Friday 7/20 will be opening day for the new Costco at 12020 N. Newport Hwy in North Spokane. This new store replaces a smaller Costco store which had been on N. Division and will soon be renovated to suit a handful of new tenants.

The new Costco on Newport Hwy. opens at 8am and will be 167,000 square feet which is over 30,000 square feet larger then the former location on Division. They also have about 50 more employees now with the larger store.

Wheel Sport Bicycles

Not too far South of the new Costco is another new business that will also open this Friday 7/20. The Wheel Sport Bicycle shop chain will have a grand opening celebration for their new store at 9501 N. Newport Hwy. The business has extensively renovated what once was an auto repair shop into a cool new bicycle sales and service place.

They will open for business at 11am and both Friday and Saturday they will have discounts, give aways, group rides , fix a flat clinics and more. Additional info can be found on the Wheel Sport Facebook page.

Altitude Trampoline Park- Spokane Valley

Although they are actually already open this Saturday 07/21 will be the official grand opening for the new Altitude Trampoline Park at 1441 N. Argonne Rd in Spokane Valley. This new trampoline park is quite large and located in a former Safeway store.

Altitude will open at 10am on the 21st with giveaways, discounts, live radio remotes, a dodgeball tournament and much more.

De Leon's Taco & Bar to open a South Hill location

De Leon's is expanding their De Leon's Taco & Bar concept yet again. This time they'll be coming to the South Hill.

This new De Leon's Taco & Bar will be opening in the former China Café space at 2718 E. 57th Ave. by the corner of 57th and Regal. This new location will continue their more casual concept with a full bar. The menu will consist of tacos, burritos, guisados with menudo and pozole added to the menu on the weekends and frequent daily specials . De Leon's famous locally produced tortilla chips, salsa and tamales will also be available for purchase with catering services offered for groups. Currently this new South Hill location is scheduled to open in September.

This will be the third location for De Leon's Taco & Bar, the first location opened in 2017 at 10208 N. Division, near Whitworth University. A second location is still under construction nearby Gonzaga University at the corner of Hamilton & Nora and will be opening much sooner then the South Hill restaurant. Also, De Leon's still operates their 2 main stores which are full Hispanic grocery stores with restaurants inside at 102 E. Francis in Spokane and 15530 E. Sprague Ave. in Spokane Valley.

Woops macaron bakeshop to open in Downtown Coeur d' Alene

Who doesn't love a macaron?  Those delicious French confections are a favorite for many with a sweet tooth. And, in many parts of the country people turn to a chain of bakery's called Woops for their macarons. Soon people here in our area also turn to them because Woops is coming to Coeur d' Alene!

Woops is setting up shop in Downtown Coeur d' Alene at 119 N. 4th St, where they plan to open later this Summer. While there isn't a set opening date yet there will defiantly be a preview of their products at the Downtown Street Fair in August.

Woops locations sell over 30 different flavors of macarons in addition to artisanal coffees. Among the flavor choices will be the common like vanilla and pistachio all the way up to the more unique Peanut Butter & Jelly or Mojito. Typical Woops locations also have a small selection other pastries and sandwiches as well.

The company is a growing chain that has been in business only since 2012, today they are one of the largest retail providers of macarons. Founded in New York City the company has over 30 locations ( several are still in the NYC area ) and most are kiosk style locations, Coeur d' Alene will be one of only a few full Woops bakeshop locations.

Dragon's Fury Games & Anime to open soon near Northtown Mall

An awesome new take on gaming stores is coming soon to Spokane. Work is underway to open a new locally owned and operated shop called Dragon's Fury Games & Anime at 41 E. Queen Suite B just north of Northtown Mall.

Dragon's Fury Games & Anime will have an extensive board and card game library for in store play, but what will set them apart is a 21 and over dedicated bar area. Plans are for Dragon's Fury customers to enjoy a cold beer or something non-alcoholic like flavored water, energy drinks and some snacks while mastering a familiar game or discovering something new.

Games that are available for play will also be available for sale. In addition to retail sales of anime, manga and Japanese pop culture products. The store will also sell Japanese model kits and accessories.

Could this really be what's going into the soon to be former North side Costco?!?

Costco is nearing completion for their new store at 12020 N. Newport Hwy, which will replace their current smaller store at 7619 N. Division. In fact the opening date for the new Costco is only 10 days away on July 20th, with the N. Division store closing likely on the 19th.

But, while there are a few abandoned big box spaces still around the area, the N. Division Costco will not join those ranks. That's because as you may recall Rich Development Enterprises ,LLC a Calfornia based firm acquired the building back in March and plans to redevelop not just the store building but some of the parking area as well. We had a separate post about that on this site when that sale occurred.

And, with the Costco move out immanent "pre-development conference " documents have appeared about the plans Rich Development has for the site. And, perhaps they are only mentioned to gather hype from nosey bloggers like myself the plans show some tenant names....

Before I mention these it is important to note it is still early in the process, likely none are set in store. I also realize they could just be examples however they are mentioned specifically, which is not common. So, with that said here is what will likely be opening at the site of the N. Division Costco...

Maverik to build a location in Airway Heights

Construction and new businesses coming to Airway Heights is nothing new. But this I figured I'd better mention this early as construction is about to begin on a lot that was originally to be a new Walgreen's.

While we can't rule out Walgreen's building elsewhere in Airway it won't be raising a the corner of US 2 and Hayford Rd. The site, across from STCU will in fact soon be home to a Maverik gas station and convenience store. Continuing Maverik's somewhat quick expansion into the Spokane market.

The new Airway Heights Maverik will be similar to the other locations of the Utah based chain. It will have a 4300 square foot convenience store with a 12 pump canopy covered fueling area in the front and 4 more covered pumps on the eastern side of the property. Like other Maverik locations they will sell all standard c-store items including a line of hot foods made in store and sold under the Bon Fire brand name.

This will be 8th location of the Maverik chain in the Spokane area, with another 2 open over in the Coeur d' Alene area. But this won't mark the end of Maverik's expansion into our area as planning has started for a new location just north of Downtown on Ruby and not 1 but 2 stores in the works for Post Falls.

Large parking expansion underway at Spokane International Airport

It's been all over the news that Spokane International Airport has experienced exponential passenger growth. Several new flights have begun / we're announced to connect Spokane with several new destinations. Major renovation projects are on the horizon for as soon as next year but some are coming sooner, like the new large expansion of the economy parking area.


Site work has begun for a new economy parking area with a total of 1300 new parking spaces. The project is estimated to cost $6.44 million and will be located on the vacant lots at the corner of Airport Dr. ( in-bound lanes ) and Flint Rd. This is across from the cell phone parking area which itself was expanded not long ago. This new parking area should open in mid-November.

It should be noted that a section of the existing "outside parking area" will be taken away soon as a new 111 room Marriott Springhill Suites is planned in-between the main terminal and the Ramada hotel. We'll have more on that very soon hopefully.

Laundry Land out, Domino's Pizza coming in on Thor

A couple of weeks ago was the last day for Laundry Land at 510 S. Thor in East Central Spokane. The mini chain ( now single location ) laundromat business says they we're unable to come to terms on their lease. Laundry Land is still very much in business which will mention in a moment, but first what is happening to the building just south of Fred Meyer where Laundry Land once was...

The building won't be empty long at all as a franchisee of Domino's Pizza has leased the building and will open a Domino's store there soon. Chad Carper, a broker with Kiemle Hagood represented the tenant and the building is owned by local developer Harlan Douglass.

This is part of recent expansion of Domino's Pizza in the area. As you may recall I recently posted about this with new Domino's Pizza locations planned at 1320 N. Hamilton nearby Gonzaga and at 604 S. Sullivan in Spokane Valley.

Laundry Land continues on in their location at the Shadle Park Shopping Center at 2215 W. Wellesley . At Shadle Park, Laundry Land offers state of the art washers and dryers in addition to TV's , free wifi, a/c and attendants that are always on duty. In addition to it being in a convenient location near Wal-Mart.

New Tuesday Morning store now open in Spokane Valley

Tuesday Morning has opened their newest store in our area. This new store can be found at Evergreen Crossing shopping center at 13808 E Indiana in Spokane Valley. The 12,500 square foot store looks to be replacing a smaller store in North Spokane.


Tuesday Morning is a Dallas based chain of stores that feature home decor, craft items, gifts, specialty foods and much more. They also have a location still open in Coeur d’ Alene. For more information on Tuesday Morning visit http://tuesdaymorning.com

Next door to Tuesday Morning on the only remaining empty space construction will start soon for a new Ulta Beauty store, which we’ll have more on that as that project progresses.

Congrats to local commercial real estate broker Brian Bean of Scout Real Estate. He recently closed on a new office building for Commodities Plus at 5207 E. 3rd Ave ( former Digideal building ) in Spokane Valley.

Kilted Growler Tap House will host their grand opening on July 14th - 15th at their location in Hayden. Kilted Growler is by Little Caesars Pizza at 8160 N. Cornerstone Dr suite D

Classic Cuts a barber shop currently located on N. Monroe will be moving and open Aug 1st at their new location Downtown. They will be at 327 W. 3rd suite B.

New local yarn shop The Hook & Needle Nook is now open for business at 1508 N. Monroe

Chic & Shab Home Boutique will open a new second location in Downtown Spokane. They will host a grand opening on July 14th at their store at the Steam Plant. Their address is 159 S. Lincoln suite 155.

North Spokane Chiropractic has relocated and is now open for business at 8619 N. Division suite B

Ben Joyce Studios which is ran by local artist Ben Joyce is setting up a new gallery , studio and event space at 806 W. 3rd in Downtown Spokane. The new space will open after some remodeling.

Vista Title & Escrow has completed their move to a cool, larger new office within the Red Lion office building. Their address is 201 W. North River Dr.

ATVTracks.net is opening a new store / warehouse at 11617 E. Trent in Spokane Valley.

APEX Physical Therapy has opened a new location in Airway Heights at 10258 W. Hwy 2 suite 4. In the Crosspointe shopping complex by Papa Murphy's

Freedom RV is opening a new location at the former Mattress Firm store at 3916 N. Division and the surrounding vacant space.

Poke Express / Yummi Ice Cream Rolls itself is a new business but their already expanding and are planning a location in Spokane Valley. They will open after a remodel at 1509 N. Pines , next to American Family Insurance.

The Garment District, a clothing store in the heart of Downtown Coeur d' Alene is opening a new second store called The Attic Vintage and Thrift at 849 N. 3rd in Midtown Coeur d' Alene.

Fairweather Innovations dba Seaview is a company that designs and manufactures marine devices and has leased space in Liberty Lake's new MK Business Park at 2225 N. Molter Rd. Brian Bean of Scout Real Estate was also involved in the lease of this new space.

Vivid Dance Academy will open a new place in August within Spokane Valley Mall.

Unfortunately Laundry Land  was unable to secure a new lease and has closed their laundromat at 510 S. Thor in Spokane. Their Shadle Park location remains open for business however.

New apparel and accessory business, All Directionz is now open in the Garland District at 903 1/2 W. Garland Ave.

Soba Teppenyaki is a new Asian quick service restaurant which is now open in the food court of Spokane Valley Mall.

Profile by Sanford a chain of nutrition, activity and lifestyle coaching business is opening a location in Coeur d' Alene at 2824 N. Ramsey Rd suite 103.

Cornerstone Physical Therapy is setting up a new location in the Garland District at 623 W. Garland Ave

Washington Vision Therapy Center is now open for business at 1120 N. Pines suite C in Spokane Valley.

All Stars Hair Studio has moved and can be found in their new space at 2030 N. Hamilton in Spokane.

Mary's Pacific Islands Store sells artwork, jewelry, clothing and more from the owners native Marshall Islands.  The new store is open for business and can be found at 2315 N. Monroe in Spokane.

Humble Abode Brewing is setting up there new space and will in the coming weeks at 1620 E. Houston in Spokane.

Lucky You Lounge will be The Bartlett's new venture coming soon in Browne's Addition

A couple of weeks ago we mentioned that the owner's of The Bartlett we're planning a second live music venue here in Spokane. This one being larger then The Bartlett itself meaning that it will likely be capable of getting some bigger shows.

The Bartlett, which won't be going anywhere either, held a fundraising event to announce / raise some of what's needed to launch this new business. While they did miss their goal by a small amount, they are going full steam ahead and construction has already begun.

The plan is to construct / open a place called Lucky You Lounge in the former Hacienda Las Flores restaurant at 1801 W. Sunset Blvd, by Rosauers in Browne's Addition.  Lucky You Lounge will be a 21 and over with 2 full bars and a restaurant. Unlike The Bartlett, the Lucky You Lounge will be open even on days when there isn't a show. But, the concerts will defiantly a highlight with a capacity of 350-400, that's more then double The Bartlett's capacity of 150.

Steady Flow Growler House planning location in Downtown Spokane

Steady Flow Growler House has gathered a loyal following since they opened in August of 2105. The locally owned and operated business runs an impressive 4.9 star rating on Google business. And, now they're building upon their success and they have their sights set on Downtown Spokane.

Steady Flow is currently working on opening a new location in the former River City Brewing Co. tap room space at 111 S. Cedar on the west side of Downtown. They plan to open there sometime later this Summer.

They say this new location will be the " same people, same vibe " . They also plan to keep their Spokane Valley location open at 328 N Sullivan, in the plaza behind Shari's . The Downtown Steady Flow Growler House will have 26 taps of craft beer, cider, kombucha and more for growler fills. They also offer the same products by the pint as well.

Washington Floral Service comes to Spokane, opening soon on the West Plains

Washington Floral Service is a regional floral distributor based in Tacoma who is now coming our way and opening soon in Spokane. They will soon serve Eastern Washington , Idaho and Montana from a newly constructed 20,000 square foot facility on the West Plains that they are presently putting the finishing touches on.

The new Spokane location will be at the corner of Thorpe and Grove Rd at 4310 S. Grove Rd. At this location they say there is plenty of parking for will call customers in a safe location, while still remaining accessible for local customers. The new facility will carry a full line of flowers, greens, plants, supplies and more.

Washington Floral Service doesn't grow anything themselves but instead sources plants and flowers from a number of trusted farms. Their services are available to both larger commercial customers and even local retail shoppers. They have a staff of people standing by to help and have been in business since 1936 so they have the experience for all floral requests,

VOA's Hope House to rise, but it's not quite goodbye for Linnie's Thai

Volunteers of America is planning a new building at 1301 W. 3rd, just southwest of Downtown Spokane. They plan to relocate and expand their Hope House programs from a much smaller building at 111 W. 3rd to the new structure.

The new Hope House will be a 4 story modern looking building with a ground floor homeless shelter, offering 120 beds designated for women. The upper 3 floors with will have 60 studio apartments for people who are trying in dire need of housing and may be on the street otherwise. They also plan on site support offices, class room space and a full kitchen. Construction will likely start in early 2019 and be completed later that year and will double the capacity of Hope House.


Currently the site, which at the corner of 3rd and Adams is home to a long running Thai restaurant called Linnie's Thai. Volunteers of America does plan on demolishing the restaurant but despite a story from another business news source saying " Goodbye Linnie's Thai " it's simply not the end.

Linnie's Thai will remain on W. 3rd through the end of July and move after that. Currently Linnie's Thai plans to re-open in Airway Heights sometime between August-October in or around the Crosspointe Shopping Center nearby Wal-Mart, we'll have more on that in the near future as it's still too early to confirm exact facts.

New restaurant watch...

I know I'll probably miss some but here is a quick review of some of the new restaurants coming to the Spokane area!

Soba Teppenyaki

Now open in the food court of Spokane Valley Mall is a cool new Asian food eatery called Soba Teppenyaki. Menu consists of reasonably priced noodle dishes, ramen and more.

Sams and Coffee

Also now open in Spokane Valley is Sams and Coffee. Albeit a bit hidden Sams occupies a 1600 square foot space at 12709 E. Mirabeau Pkwy for the workers of the surrounding Pinecroft Business Park and the entire community.

Sams menu consists of a few sandwiches and salads in addition to beer and a full espresso line up.

The Grain Shed

Not technically a restaurant it must be mentioned that The Grain Shed is now open in the South Perry district at 1026 E. Newark .

It's an awesome locally owned and operated place that is sort of 2 businesses in one. Culture Breads makes amazing fresh breads each day on the bakery portion and the on site brewery brews up fresh beers. It's a must to check out!

Vessel Coffee Roasters

Also on South Perry, Vessel Coffee Roasters is setting up a new neighborhood coffee shop in the formerly abandoned building at the corner of 11th Ave and Pittsburg. This is the same Vessel Coffee that is already operating a shop on N. Monroe.

Dinardi's Pizza and Pasta

We've been hearing rave reviews already coming from Spokane's newest pizza shop, Dinardi's. Located in the same building as Bruchi's at 829 E. Boone , nearby Gonzaga this new restaurant serves up fresh pizzas, Stromboli, calzones, heros, wings, wraps and more.

Austin Live Fire BBQ

Not too much is known yet but we do know that the owner of Mizuna is working on opening a second restaurant in the Downtown area. This time it will be a new BBQ place called Austin Live Fire BBQ and is coming as early as next month to 421 W. Main.

River City Pizza

River City Pizza is already a cool local pizza joint serving Otis Orchards, but it looks like they are branching out and will soon open a new second location to serve Newman Lake. Work / licensing is in the works for this new River City Pizza at 12515 N. Newman Lake Rd.

Heritage Bar & Kitchen

We mentioned this one on this blog sometime ago but wanted to re-mention as it is now officially open for business. Heritage Bar & Kitchen is in Downtown Spokane at 122 S. Monroe and is a full bar with food menu of burgers and some pub fare.

Heritage even has a drink menu of drinks named after local media icons like the Tom Sherry ( choice of flavored vodka, soda, splash of tonic & a lemon twist ) or the Robyn Nance ( Hornitos Tequila, sweet & sour, lots of lime & a float of grand mariner ). And, a few others, funny I don't see any drinks named after your friendly local blogging media members though.... ( just sayin' ;) )

Despite construction delays the new Noodle Express location in Airway Heights is now open!  This is the 8th location for the Spokane based chain of fast casual Asian restaurants. The Airway Heights store is slightly over 2100 square feet and located in the Crosspoint Plaza at 10408 W US Hwy 2 suite 1.

Renderings reveal look of new 7 story building coming to Downtown Spokane

In case you missed it, a new 7 story mixed use building is in the works on the western edge of Downtown Spokane at 1309 W 1st. . The new building will replace a much smaller single story building on the same site and will connect to the Password building directly next door at the corner of 1st & Adams.


While actual construction won't happen till later this year, locally based architecture firm, Trek Architecture has shared a rendering of the plan. Once complete this new building will be primarily apartments 48 1 and 2 bedroom rental units and ground floor commercial lease space. Here is a look at the rendering-




The same developers are also proposing a plan to renovate a former auto repair facility in the same block of W 1st into a new brewery and restaurant.

Alaska Airlines to add non stop flights between San Diego and Spokane

It's no secret that Spokane International Airport is growing, over the last few months several new non stop flights have been added. Planning is currently in the works for renovations to begin next year and with an Amazon Fulfillment Center planned to open next year near by, even the air cargo numbers will likely increase.


In fact just this morning it has been announced that Alaska Airlines will add a daily non stop flight between Spokane and San Diego. This will be the first non stop connection between the 2 cities, which is set to begin on Oct. 1st . Alaska will use a Embraer 175 jet for the route and will depart from Spokane nightly at 5:40pm with a return flight departing from San Diego at 7:10am and arriving here in Spokane at 9:55am.


Both San Diego and Spokane are also airports that participate in Alaska's "wine fly's free" program which allows mileage plan members to check an entire case of wine, up to 12 bottles, for no baggage fee, something very unique in the air travel industry.


This new connection is huge for Spokane as it opens up another link between us and Southern California. It's also a great connection point for travel between Spokane and Latin America. This new flight will surely mean a lot to the local business community "We want to thank Alaska Airlines for this important commitment," said Spokane Airport Board Chair Nancy Vorhees. "Nonstop service from the second largest city in Washington state to the second largest city in California has been an important priority for us and our partners in the business community, in particular LabCorp and Itron "


This is the second new non stop flight announced recently as Frontier Airlines announced earlier this month they will start a Spokane to Las Vegas flight beginning in August.

The Bartlett, seeks to build larger second live music venue in Spokane

The Bartlett is well known around Spokane as an all ages live music venue. The business has hosted some pretty awesome up and coming bands in it's Downtown space at 228 W. Sprague. But, now The Bartlett's owners are working on bringing a new second music venue to Spokane, this time in Browne's Addition and they need the community's help!

While not named yet they recently signed a lease on the former Sunset Junction bar at 1801 W. Sunset Blvd. This new venue is defiantly larger then The Bartlett with 10,000 square feet and would be huge for the local music scene. There isn't an opening date set yet either but some construction work is under way.

But, building such a venture doesn't come cheep so The Bartlett will be hosting a 1 night only " kickstarter style " event on Thursday, June 28th . They hope to raise $40,000 to get this exciting new venue moving. The event, called  " Kickstart The Bartlett 2.0 " will take place at 8:30pm with a cocktail hour from 7:30-8:30. They say there will be more info released about the new venue at the event.

Dominos Pizza adding more locations in our area

In the coming months watch from a few more Domino's Pizza locations will be poping up around our area with new locations in the works in Spokane , Spokane Valley and Post Falls. Here's the details-

Pacific Pie,Inc. , the Spokane based franchisee of basically all of the Domino's in our area ( except North Idaho ) is planning two new stores and jumping into the development world as well. The company recently purchased a 1.07 acre lot at 604 S. Sullivan Rd. , close by Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley. There they plan to build a small strip mall of 4 bays, 1 of which will be used for a new Domino's Pizza location. The remaining space would be leased out to other businesses.

Over in Spokane proper Pacific Pie,Inc. also recently acquired the former Hamilton Mart building at 1320 N. Hamilton in the Logan neighborhood. Building permits a new Domino's at that location are currently in plan review phase and interestingly enough include an outdoor patio. The new Domino's Pizza on Hamilton should be complete around September and the new Sullivan Rd. location will likely be complete sometime in the fall.

Over in North Idaho building permits have been issued for a 2nd location of Domino's Pizza in Post Falls. The new Post Falls Domino's will take the space of a former Chiropractor's office at 606 N. Spokane St. , just off of I-90. This location is likely intended for the western side of the city as they also recently relocated the original Post Falls location to the corner of Mullan & Hwy 41 on the far eastern side of the town. No word on when this location will open however.

Domino's Pizza is the sixth largest fast food chain, by locations, in the world. World wide they have over 14,000 stores, which can be found in dozens of countries. Back home here in the Spokane / Coeur d' Alene general area Domino's Pizza has 15 locations already open, and these 3 more to be open soon.

Small new strip mall coming out front of Yoke's on Sprague

A portion of the Northwest corner of the Sprague Ave. Yoke's parking lot is being converted into a new commercial building for a variety of businesses. Once completed, the new building will be a 4 bay strip mall with the address of 13014 E. Sprague Ave.


The building should be ready in about 3-4 months and will be about 5880 square feet, divisible down to 1400 square feet suites. The building will share parking with the Yoke's store and the nearby Payless Shoe Source store which is also on a pad site in the parking lot.  Leasing work is being done now but no spaces are officially leased as of my checking.

The building will likely fill quickly with businesses as it's has a prime location facing Sprague, with 21000+ daily car count and many other well known established businesses in the same neighborhood.

New Indian restaurant coming soon to Coeur d' Alene

A new restaurant is coming soon to Coeur d' Alene and promising to spice up the local culinary scene. That's' because this new restaurant will be Coeur d' Alene's only ( and likely first? ) Indian restaurant.


The new business, which will be called The Mango Tree will open in what was last used by another restaurant called Fedora. Located at 1726 W Kathleen Ave, just west of Ramsey Rd., The Mango Tree will be operated by different owners from Fedora and will remodel the building before opening. Currently The Mango Tree is planned to open sometime in early July.

The Mango Tree identifies as an " Indian Kitchen and Tap House " . The menu will be made up of Indian curries and grill items such as Indian style pizza and wraps. They are now hiring for all positions and for updates follow them on Facebook at-

Cool Beans Coffee expanding with new full coffee shop coming soon in Spokane Valley

Cool Beans Coffee has been a favorite South Hill coffee drive through for quite some time. Their stand serves up fresh coffee, espresso drinks and so much more each day at 4408 S. Regal. Guests also can find retail coffee, Isagenix products and a friendly fast barista staff so it makes total sense the business would be growing.


Cool Beans Coffee recently announced they will be opening a new location , at the former Cuppa Joe's space at Appleway & University near U City is Spokane Valley. Cool Beans will have both locations open and both will similar menus. But the new Valley location will be a bit improved.

I'm told they will have more food items as this new location has something the South Hill store does not. And, that's an indoor coffee shop space in addition to a drive though. They hope to have the drive though at the Valley location open later this month and the indoor café area operating probably about the middle of next month.

Restaurant Debut to allow a new resturarant each month to bring their unique menus to Spokane

From the " why didn't I think of that? " files is a new business coming to Spokane called Restaurant Debut.

Restaurant Debut will renovate the building at 3115 E. Mission which was last used as a short lived 2nd location for Freedom Burrito. The business will allow up and coming local chefs to rent the entire place for 1 month, meaning different cuisine, different menu and more each month. Restaurants opening at Restaurant Debut need to bring only the menu, decorations and the food. The rest, like the commercial grade kitchen. tables, chairs and utensils are all provided. Even staffing is available for an extra fee.

The new business will still need to do work to the building, etc.. in preparation so they don't plan to open till October 1st. Rent is $3,500 due at the beginning of the month, and $3,500 due at the end of the month. The restaurant owner keeps the profits, which will be likely with such a unique concept and good location close to Spokane Community College. This concept might even provide a launching point for Spokane's next new culinary hot spot.

Large new multi-tenant industrial building coming to Riversbend Commerce Park in Post Falls

Vacancy rates among warehouses and light industrial properties across the Inland Northwest remain low. So it's no surprise that we're seeing a lot commerce and industrial parks actively building. Spokane's own Playfair Commerce Park has built and leased several new spaces over the last couple of years and there is a new push underway to fill more vacant lots on the West Plains around the Spokane International Airport.


That push to build new industrial buildings has even hit North Idaho as is evident by plans set forth by Riverbend Commerce Park near I-90 exits 1 and 2 in Post Falls. They recently started construction on a large new multi-tenant building to be called the Lemhi Building. This new building will have 50,000 square feet of space all divisible and likely available in August.




The Lemhi Building is pre-leasing now for spaces 5000 square feet and up. The spaces are leasing for 0.60 per square foot and include build out of a manufacturing floor, office and bathroom. The space can be used for many different types of companies, including new businesses just starting out. Loading docks, 24' 10" minimum clear height, LED lighting , on site parking and much more are included. And it's all just minutes away from Spokane with easy access to I-90.

Duluth Trading Co. coming to Spokane Valley

You've likely seen their ad's on TV, but soon you'll see them in person. This is because Duluth Trading Co. announced recently they plan to build a new store in Spokane Valley.


The company which is Wisconsin based, sells primarily clothing and accessories. The companies merchandise leans more toward work wear and outdoor apparel. Duluth Trading Co. has seen rapid expansion in recent years, something not common among retailers and this Spokane Valley location will be the company's first store in Washington State.


The new Spokane Valley Duluth Trading Company store will be a 15,000 square foot new construction building to be built at 16314 E. Indiana, a bit to the east of Spokane Valley Mall. The store will be in-between the Hampton Inn and the former Hooters restaurant which is also currently under construction to be used in part by a church. Construction will likely start in the fall, meaning the new store probably won't open until early 2019.

Altitude Trampoline Park is now open in Spokane Valley

Staying in town this holiday weekend? Looking for something new to do? Well then you may want to check out the newly opened Spokane Valley location of Altitude Trampoline Park.

Altitude opened for the first time just this afternoon in the former Safeway at 1441 N. Argonne Rd. . The business spans about 32,000 square feet with trampolines throughout the building and 16 different attractions. Guests can check out a foam pit, rock wall, laser maze, basketball, dodgeball and much more. In all the new location employs more then 60 and is open 7 days a week.

The park is also available for birthday parties and an a wide array of other events, just contact them directly for more information. The Spokane Valley location will be second location in Washington state for the Texas based chain. The company has experienced exponential growth recently with dozens of locations currently either under construction or coming soon, Altitude is even planning to have locations in Mexico and Tokyo, Japan very soon.

Cracker Barrel planning location in North Spokane

Although it isn't publicly announced yet, it looks like we can now say that the Cracker Barrel chain of restaurants and country stores is coming to Spokane!

Documents have been filed with the city, showing plans to build a new Cracker Barrel in North Spokane. The plans show the restaurant would build on the Northeast side of the N. Newport Hwy / E. Hoerner Ave. intersection, nearby The Y and the Northpointe Plaza shopping center. Those plans call for a new 9,170 square foot building to be constructed on the site. Along with a 1,316 square foot covered front porch, an addition that is a bit of an iconic feature for the chains restaurants.

The restaurant would include a new surface parking area with almost 130 parking spaces. In all  Cracker Barrel would occupy just shy of 2 acres with the site being devided, creating a new lot at the back along N. Colton St. . Inside the new Cracker Barrel will include seating for about 180 as well as a country store area. This space would sell small gifts, unique foods, country themed merchandise and more. All in all the new North Spokane Cracker Barrel will likely end up almost identical to the Coeur d' Alene location which just opened for business last year and has been packed most times since.

Currently this new restaurant is in the planning / permitting phase so there will still be more details coming so keep an eye on this site for more as we will post more information as we get it. Cracker Barrel, for those who don't know is a chain of country / Southern themed resturants with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their restaurants are family friendly and don't serve liquor. Very common along highways in other parts of the country, Cracker Barrel is a Tennessee based company that has been growing a lot lately. As of the latest information Cracker Barrel has 640+ locations and over 73,000 employees nationwide.

Riverside Station, a large new high rise planned in Downtown Spokane

Yes, your read the title of this correctly, if built this planned new development might just be the first large high rise to be built in Downtown Spokane since the Davenport Grand Hotel. And, if built as planned the Riverside Station would likely be the tallest building in Spokane!

Currently the tallest building in Spokane is the Bank of America Financial Center at 288 feet, but this building would have 354 feet and 31 floors.

So, where will Riverside Station be built?
It's purposed for the vacant lot on the northwest side of the N. Division / MLK Way intersection in the University District section of Downtown. The address is listed as 100 N. Division

When will Riverside Station be built? as per the plans recently filed with the City of Spokane construction will begin this fall. However it is important to note this project is still in the planning phase and developments this large rarely run on schedule.

Here is a breakdown of what is purposed in this new high rise-

Ground floor- Some parking, retail / restaurant lease space and some building support services

Floors 2-7- Parking garage ( 400 spaces )

Floor 8- Mechanical support area

Floors 9-18 Apartments ( number of apartments doesn't look to be set just yet )

Floors 19-22 Office space

Floors 23-30 Condo apartments

Floor 31 Condo apartments and mechanical


We've only recently received these details so we don't have a building rendering or anything along those lines yet. The project's developer is listed under the name Alvco,LLC which appears to be connected to local real estate investor Vincent & Janet Dressel. We'll be watching / checking for more in the coming weeks...

This is actually 1 of 3 purposed high rises in Downtown Spokane at this point in time. But, to date no construction has happened on any of the sites. The Falls Tower is planned near the Spokane Arena, and the 1400 Tower is planned to the west of Downtown along the Spokane River. There has also been on going rumblings of another high rise planned just a couple of blocks north of the Riverside Station proposal on the site of the abandoned auto shop at Division and Spokane Falls Blvd.

The opening date for Spokane’s new Nike store is here!

We’ve watched construction crews build out Spokane’s first Nike Outlet store for the last few months. But, finally this afternoon we’ve been able to confirm that the store will open on June 14th at 10am!



Spokane’s new Nike store is the first commercial tenant of the former Macy’s building, now called The M. Other stores and restaurants are still coming but not announced yet. The new store is a 12000 +/- square feet space carrying the full line of Nike products. Currently the next closest Nike store is in Auburn,WA.

It's opening day for Sweet Peaks Ice Cream's new location in Downtown Spokane!

After a few months of remodeling the popular Sweet Peaks Ice Cream chain opens for business later this morning in Downtown Spokane. Their new location is next door to Durkin's Liquor Bar at 415 W. Main and is the seventh location overall for the Whitefish, MT based company.

The Spokane store will officially open at 11:30am today ( May 11th ) . Customers will find nine signature ice cream flavors, joined by several more rotating seasonal flavors. The Spokane location will be similar to their other Inland Northwest location which open a couple of years ago in Downtown Coeur d' Alene.

Poke Express opening day is this Friday!

Beginning tomorrow Spokane now has a fast casual Poke' restaurant! It's been the talk of our Facebook page recently so I figured I'd take a moment on here to announce that Poke' Express is to open for business tomorrow ( May 11th ) at 10:30am . The new restaurant features freshly made poke' bowls and rolled ice cream from a storefront nearby Sacred Heart at 905 S. Grand.

The restaurant is has similar concept to a Subway, which kind of make cense since it's location was last used by that chain. Which since Poke Express is a locally owned and operated business makes the news of the location all the more wonderful. Diners have the option to " build your own " bowl with a base, a protein , many side options, some sauce and toppings. Or, the menu will also have a few delicious sounding bowl options that have recommended combinations then built fresh for you.

And, yes Poke Express will also serve the same rolled ice cream that they make at their sister restaurant, Yummy Ice Cream Rolls, which can be found on N. Division, by Gonzaga in the University District.

New strip mall planned near Wandermere

A small new strip mall is in the works for the vacant lot at 11921 N. Division, just to the south of the Wandermere area. Planned is a 6900 square foot building with up to four storefronts, one being specifically geared towards a new restaurant as it would include a patio and drive through lane.

Construction will likely begin sometime this year as the building is to be complete by March of 2019. Of the 4 storefronts one is leased, a space with a little more the 2100 square feet on the end but no news as of yet about what business will lease that space. The remaining spaces are up for lease and are being marketed by NAI Black. Currently space is leasing for $24 per square foot in line or $30 per square foot for the end cap restaurant space.

Poole’s Public House to build new restaurant in Wandermere

Poole’s Public House , a pub style bar and restaurant in North Spokane is making big plans. They are currently in a leased strip mall space at 101 E. Hastings Rd. but will soon replace that space with a new building all their own.

They aren’t going far though as it will be just a bit to the west at 12310 N Ruby at Hastings and Ruby. The new restaurant will be a stand alone building with about 5000 square feet. It was designed by Mercier Architecture & Planning and Baker Construction will be the general contractor. Below is a look at the purposed renderings for this new Poole’s Public House.

Anytime Fitness to join Fairways Plaza near Cheney

The rumors are true, a fitness center is coming soon to the Fairways Plaza shopping center at 10511 W. Aero Drive. This is the shopping center that has been largely vacant since it's construction at the SR 902 exit off of I-90, except for a McDonald's & a physical therapy office.

The fitness center will be a location of the huge Anytime Fitness chain and take up about 2 suites there or almost 6000 square feet. The goal is to have the new Anytime Fitness open sometime in the early summer. They plan to begin accepting members as soon as the end of this month.

As is with all Anytime Fitness, members can work out at Anytime with 24 hour access via a key fob. Members will also get access to use Anytime Fitness' 4000+ other gym locations. This new location will also have a fitness studio with over 200 automated classes, a free weight area, many machines, men's & women's showers and occasional group events and outings. Personal training services will also be available.

While this location will be a locally owned and operated franchise, Anytime Fitness actually a huge recognizable chain with locations throughout United States and several other countries around the world. The Minnesota based company has been in operation for about 16 years and can today boast more then 2 million clients. This will be the fourth Anytime Fitness location in the Spokane area with a couple more in the Kootenai County area.
