Bing Crosby Theater gets new owner.

Downtown Spokane's landmark Bing Crosby Theater located at 901 W. Sprague Ave has been sold and the new theater owner plans major improvements and hopes to make the theater a tourist destination as well keeping up the status of an iconic performance house.The new owner is businessman Gerald V. Dicker of Spokane who owns GVD Commercial Properties,INC. as well as The Hotel Ruby and Sapphire Lounge nearby on 1st Ave and a majority interest in the former Burgan's Fine Furniture building and land along Division St. near the Gonzaga campus,which was proposed for a large hotel sometime back but has yet to begin construction on.The new owner plans to bring more events to The Bing and bring in more memorabilia of Bing Crosby who preformed in the theater many times before he and his family moved on to California. Mr Dicker is purchasing the Bing Crosby Theater for $920,000 dollars from Mitch Silver who also runs a collectible car auction company.
