New shops will be first of many at former Post Falls Outlet Mall

At one point just a couple of years ago both the North Idaho Outlets and Post Falls Outlets, along Riversbend in Post Falls sat almost completely vacant and closed up. But, those days are over and while we don't have 100% occupancy some new life has already returned.

Tedder Industries, a locally based manufacturer of gun holsters acquired the North Idaho Outlets section of the outlet malls and has done many updates. The southern building has been converted into a manufacturing facility for Tedder and the north building has been converted into the Tedder Business Center, where a handful of businesses have already moved in. But, today's news comes from the smaller Post Falls Outlet Mall.

This is the smaller complex where Dress Barn once was at 4005 W. Riversbend Ave. It too has come under new ownership as of the Summer of 2017 and updates are already in the works throughout. The complex is now considered the Riversbend Commerce Park and Select Properties Co. is doing leasing and property management for the complex. Now in the re-tenanting process things are going full steam ahead with many local businesses being attracted by extremely competive lease rates.

Active leasing of spaces began in November and as of early Jan. 27% of the spaces are already leased. There are also signed agreements in place for another round of new tenants to open at the shopping center by March 1st which brings the occupancy rate back up to 51%. In all the complex offers about 65,000 square feet of commercial space.

So, what businesses will be opening at the Riversbend Commerce Park? They say it's a perfect mix of home furnishings, home décor, e-commerce, office and food & beverage. The Cabin Restaurant and Northwest Title Loan, the last remaining open tenants for the outlet malls will stay open but will be joined by at least...

The Rusty Star- opening Feb 1st, The Rusty Star is a locally owned and operated retail store. It will be a home décor store specializing in custom wood signs, flags and other vintage goods. They will open in a 2,250 square foot space.

Faithful Chocolates- Moving from near Wal-Mart in Post Falls, Faithful looks to already be open for business at the Riversbend Commerce Park. They are also a local business, specializing in chocolates with a selection of Christian books and gifts.

Looking to open a business or move your business to Riversbend Commerce Park? Many spaces are still available for lease but they are obviously filling up fast. Spaces are leasing for .30 to .50 cents per square foot, which are well under market rate.
