New events coming to Coeur d' Alene this year.

It's no secret that local events are huge for the economy of Coeur d' Alene. For instance many Downtown Coeur d' Alene businesses count on the large crowds at Car d' Lane, Ironman, Taste of the Coeur d' Alene's ,etc... for some of their biggest grossing days of the year and this 2 new events are sure to add to the economic boost, those events are...

- While not in Downtown Coeur d' Alene the Coeur d' Alene Music Festival will make it's debut this year at Kootenai County Fairgrounds on Government Way. This event is an 4 day outdoor music festival with the headlining concert being Eric Hutchinson . The event takes place Aug 30th thru Sept 2nd and other concerts include Vertical Horizon and Everlast plus many more including local artist Ron Greene. A 4 day pass to the festival is only 75 dollars and single day passes are available at 25 dollars each.

 - After a several decade long absence Hydroplane Races will return this year to Lake Coeur d' Alene. The event is called the Diamond Cup Regatta and it will feature a Grand Prix style Hydroplane race with what is called unlimited Hydroplane racing coming to next year's event. The event which does take place in and around Downtown Coeur d' Alene will happen on Labor Day Weekend and organizers are motivated and hope to make this one of the larger hydroplane races in the United States. It should also be noted the Diamond Cup Regatta has been held before but not with the actual races like 2012's event will feature.

These events plus all the new businesses opening really are a great sign for the economy of Coeur d' Alene.
