Sprague Union Terrace coming to Spokane

Spokane's East Central neighborhood, particularly the neighborhood around East Sprague Avenue has long been known for its crime issues including drugs, prostitution and other unwelcome happenings. But the times are changing for the East Sprague area as in the last couple of years the neighborhood has been renamed the Spokane International District for the amount of shops and restaurants that feature items and foods from other parts of the world.

And now there's even more hope for the newly formed Spokane International District with the construction of a large new apartment and multi-purpose building to be called Sprague Union Terrace which will be located on the site of a former farmer's market directly along E. Sprague.

The new building which is under construction already is scheduled to be complete sometime around March of 2013. The street level of the building will feature new retail shop space and the upper 3 stories of the building will consist of subsidized apartments.

The buildings look and the higher amount of new residences will hopefully continue to deter crime and bring back the neighborhood.
