Drive In Theatre proposed for Spokane

It's not even a sure thing this business will ever get built, but two local residents are purposing bringing back the Drive In movie theatre concept to Spokane.
The two, Johnathan and Bryan Durbin have created an extremely active Facebook page called Spokane Drive In Theater to pitch their business idea. That idea is opening a new drive in movie theater, in Spokane. The page was clearly created to get a feel for if this concept would work, but in the about 10 day's their page has been online, the page like's have skyrocketed to over 5,000 , proving this might just be a viable business for Spokane.

There is no planned name yet, but many names have been tossed around on the Facebook site. And, since there hasn't been any official licenses or permits issued there is also no opening official opening date, but they are shooting for sometime in the summer of 2015.

The Durbin's, who are also brothers are looking to move forward with funding via the popular Kickstarter.com web site and locations are also being tossed around. One potential spot is behind Discount Tire on N. Division in North Spokane.

Because INBW is not affiliated with any local business, we usually try to stay natural. But in this case I think it's safe to say we support this business effort, if, it's done right. It is important to note however, that the only existing drive in movie theater in Eastern Washington, The Auto Vue in Colville has struggled to stay open and may not even re-open next year, largely due to the cost of a digital equipment. Something this new "Spokane Drive In" would also need before opening.
