Permit Watch- June 4rd 2014 (Some big news )

One of the way's I check for new businesses and development projects coming to the Spokane area is by checking the most recently filed building permits. I figured I take some time out and share some what the permits are showing for Spokane, because right now they're showing some exciting news. Much of that news will be reported on once I gather more info from other sources.

Now none of the these are sure things and I can only hint at things to avoid sharing full permit info since I'd assume this counts and as sharing for a commercial use (even though INBW isn't a for profit business). But here is some of the BIG news in the City of Spokane building permits-

BIG NEWS-Caruso's, a local chain of sub and pizza restaurants appears to be the first restaurant to be opening in the Burgain's Block Building. This looks to also be true because a University District Caruso's is mentioned as "coming soon" on the Ruby Hospitality web site. The upper floors of this building is being converted to an extended stay hotel / apartment complex called Ruby Suites.

BIG NEWS-Mom's Custom Tattoo's coming to Kendall Yards? A permit for this is in at an address on W. Summit Pkwy. Maybe this will be one of the new shops we've been waiting to hear news on in the Downtown area project.

-The Growler Guys will also on the South Hill as a permit for the chain is now in at 2933 E.29th Ave.

BIG NEWS-Probably the biggest news is the party supply chain Party City appears to be opening in Spokane. Party City's permit is for 9960 N. Newport Hwy.

-Weldon Barber , barber shop chain has permit for 9502 N. Newport Hwy.

-General Nutrition , a.k.a the GNC chain has a permit in for the Crescent Court Building at 707 W. Main in Downtown Spokane. Would be nice to see some new business activity in the historic building.

BIG NEWS-Ruby Apartments is a new apartment complex apparently in the planning process at 940 N. Ruby Ave. by the ARC of Spokane Thrift Store in the University District. From what we have heard it will be multiple stories, more on this very soon.
