Former Kia of Spokane dealership to become a church

The former location of Kia of Spokane has been sold and is now being remodeled to serve a new purpose as a church. The dealership site, which is at 21326 E. Mission Ave in Liberty Lake was sold to Cornerstone Pentecostal Church for a cost of 1.9 million.

The dealership has been vacant since late 2011 when Kia of Spokane was acquired by the George Gee Auto Group and moved to the former Hummer dealer space on George Gee Dr. nearby the site in Liberty Lake. The Cornerstone Pentecostal Church has extensive remodeling plans which are already well underway. Included in the work on the building is a 9,000 square foot sanctuary that will take the place of much of the former service department.

The remodel will also create a new lobby area and offices. The church has about 300 members and is moving to the site from 12817 E. Broadway in Spokane Valley. No official word on when the first services would take place.
