Gonzaga University building new indoor tennis and golf center in Spokane

Big things are happening at Gonzaga, The COG is set to be demolished to make way for a new main university center building and the a new Boone Ave. Retail building is under construction on campus, those 2 projects will be covered more in depth on this site as time and space allows but today we look at the third major project coming to the local university, a large new indoor tennis and golf facility.

The new Gonzaga Tennis and Golf facility will occupy all 72,000 square feet of a new construction building that is now officially under construction on a 3 acre site at 1220 N. Superior St. in Spokane only a couple of blocks to the east of the Gonzaga campus.

With a total price tag for the new building set to come in around $6 million dollars the new facility will house 6 tennis courts and a indoor golf practice area. Most of the building will be all on the ground floor however a small area is planned on the 2nd story for spectators and restrooms.

Walker Construction will be the general contractor for the project with ALSC and the Gonzaga in-house architecture staff being involved in the design work for the project.

The new facility is expected to be open sometime in October of November of this year.
