Kootenai River Inn Hotel and Casino opens it's latest expansion

A lot has changed for the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho since they first opened their Kootenai River Inn in Bonners Ferry some 26 years ago. Today the once small riverside hotel is now also a casino and one of the largest employers in the sparsely populated Boundary County,Idaho some 90 miles north of the Coeur d' Alene / Spokane metro area.

Even though the casino and hotel are a bit of drive from most of the Northwest's larger cities the property does still bring in many looking to get away and with it's close proximity to the Canadian border the Kootenai River Inn has also proven to be a hotspot for tourist's and retiree's from the north.

Now something new at Kootenai River Inn is proving to be yet another attractant. The Kootenai Tribe recently opened a new expansion to the property called Kootenai Falls Lodge . Kootenai Falls Lodge adds 36 new hotel rooms to the Kootenai River Inn hotel, which operates as a part of the multi-national Best Western Hotel system. With the new hotel expansion the Kootenai River Inn now has 101 hotel rooms in addition to the casino, a on site spa, meeting rooms, indoor pool, business center and the popular Springs Resturant.

The new guest rooms in the Kootenai Falls Lodge include keurig coffee makers , large new TV's and walk in showers among many other amenities.

While the new hotel rooms are the highlight of the recently opened expansion they are certainly not the only new things at Kootenai River Inn. The main lodge underwent renovations during construction with new flooring and a new patio overlooking the Kootenai River. Behind the scenes the property also added a new laundry facility and a new manitance facility was also added.

Kootenai River Inn is located just off of US 95 at 7169 Plaza St in Bonners Ferry. For more info on the hotel/casino visit their web site at-
