New business wanted for former Garland Liquor Store

The Garland District is a unique district in Spokane, filled to the brim with locally owned and operated retail shops, restaurants and bars. While I personally considered all of Spokane's neighborhood business districts special, Garland is a favorite of mine.

And, this spring a new large commercial vacancy has opened up in the heart of the district, just under a block away from the landmark Garland Theater.

The vacancy is the former Garland Liquor Store at 1022 W. Garland Ave. . And, with this new opening the district's business owners are seeking a new tenant that will bring additional life to the neighborhood. I'm told they are hoping to land a restaurant or grocery store. They are also hoping to stay away from another bar as the district is already home to 7 like establishments.

The building is empty and ready for a new business to move right in. 1022 W. Garland has good visibility from both Garland Ave. and N. Monroe and plenty of off street parking. The building may need some remodeling but if a lease we're too be signed soon a business may be able to open in time for the 2015 Garland Street Fair, which will be held on August 8th.

The building has 5808 square feet of space and is listed through Bill Duffy with Goodale & Barbieri. The space is available at $12.00 per square foot and would make an ideal new business location.

For more information leasing / opening a new business at 1022 W. Garland. Check this page, which includes a photo of the space-
