New Bar / Club Openings & Closings - April 22nd 2014

We've been getting a lot of exciting news on the Spokane area bar scene lately ( including the winery / brewery scene ). So here is what we know to be coming soon-

Underground 15

The space that was last The Blue Spark bar in Downtown Spokane will be getting a new owner and all new look / name. That new business will be called Underground 15 and will be at 15 S. Howard in the same block as the vacant Ridpath Hotel ( soon to become the Ridpath Club Apartments, more on that elsewhere on this blog ).

Underground 15 is using the term " booze, grub, tunes " and extensive remodeling work is going on right now. There is no known opening date as of now. The club will have a sort of industrial look.

Sergio's

Sergio's, a sports bar in Downtown Spokane at 825 W. Riverside has closed it's doors. The bar was owned by Sergio Deleon who is also the owner of Deleon Foods, a Mexican grocery store on E. Francis in North Spokane.

Tamarack Public House

In the coming months watch for the opening of Tamarack Public House in Downtown Spokane. Gearing up for a opening by Hoopfest weekend.

Tamarack Public House will take over the former Architecture office at 912 W. Sprague Ave. The new business is best described by this bio on their Facebook page-

"Farm to table food. Wonderful place to relax and have a great meal with friends. State of art meeting space. Over 20 craft beers on tap. Large wine list."

Fenwyr Cellars

Spokane's newest producer of the ancient drink, Mead is opening soon. Fenwyr will be in Spokane Valley at 928 N. Lake Rd #10B and they hope to add a tasting room in the near future.

The Palomino Club

Construction and prep work continues on a new country bar / live music venue in North Spokane. The business will go by the name The Palomino Club and will be located in the building that was last a club called The Center and has also been used a banquet facility in the past.

The Palomino Club will be at 6425 N. Lidgerwood. For more information visit them on Facebook at-

Country music shows have already started but have lately been being transferred to The Roadhouse, another country bar in Spokane Valley.

Cloudburst Brewing Co. / Downburst Brewing Co.

Wondering why the double name for this new brewery? That's because the Post Falls based brewery was originally Cloudburst Brewing until another individual trademarked the Cloudburst name blocking them from using the name after some work had already been done.

But the owners we're fast to rename the business as Downburst Brewing Co. and also recently acquired space for a location and tap room in Post Falls.

Downburst will open in the coming months in the Treaty Rock Center development at 418 W. Seltice Way ( behind Meineke ).
