Some new food trucks hitting the streets this year... #taste509

I can't say this is a full list, nor when they will be ready for business. But it's looking like the Spokane / Coeur d' Alene food truck scene may be growing. Here are some new local food trucks and some of what we know about them....

Rawdeadfish

Already open for business, and parked on regular basis on Best Ave. in Coeur d' Alene is Rawdeadfish. They are the region's first sushi food truck and will also be attending some of the local event's.

While I have yet to try their truck personally, the reviews and all that I have heard about this new food truck has been positive.

The Bearded Chefs

Although we haven't heard any news from this new food truck in a while we assume The Bearded Chefs are still planning to be out and about in Spokane this year.

The Bearded Chefs is a unique food truck attempt with what they call Native American / Asian / Southern fusion menu items.

Short Bus Bistro

With a "different" name, The Short Bus Bistro is hoping to be serving food in time for Hoopfest this year. The Short Bus Bistro is about all things local serving dishes like burgers, etc... made from locally sourced ingredients in former school bus.

Coffee Roboto

Hoping to serve a menu of artisan coffee and doughnuts to several Coeur d' Alene area events is Coffee Roboto. The coffee food truck also plans to serve at the Kootenai County Farmers Market on a regular basis.

I'm unsure if they are officially open for business but have been working on their truck and will likely be out in Coeur d' Alene soon.

Thrifty Scotsman 2go

Probably one of the more exciting new food trucks to hit the streets of Spokane this year is the Thrifty Scotsman 2go. This new truck is a mobile second location of the Thrifty Scotsman , an iconic burger restaurant in Spokane Valley.

The menu will likely be similar and will be served and many different sites / events around the entire area.

The Buoy

I don't know if it can be called a food truck since it's not exactly on wheels, but The Buoy is now open in Coeur d' Alene. The Buoy is the area's first and only floating food truck serving from a converted houseboat on Lake Coeur d' Alene.

Watch for more on them soon, but until then visit-

Penny's Pit Gourmet Burger Bus

Similar to the business idea of the new Thrifty Scotsman 2go, Penny's Pit is a food truck extension of an already existing restaurant. Penny's Pit is affiliated with the burger restaurant by the same name in Rathdrum.

Penny's Pit Gourmet Burger Bus also serves a menu of specialty burgers primarily from a colorfully decorated bus parked in Post Falls. The bus can be found regularly next to Jiffy Lube in the 1700 block of W. Seltice Way.

Also....

The news seems to not be looking good for the " Spokane Food Park " a former used care dealership on Sprague Ave east of Downtown that was to become a food truck pod. So far, no trucks are there and I'm hearing they may not have had the financing to get it off the ground. We hope this not true, and will continue to keep an eye on this potential project.
