Signs are up and the building itself is going up for the new Winco Foods grocery store off of Ramsey Rd. in Coeur d' Alene. And by now most of Coeur d' Alene already knows that Winco is coming to town.
But the new Winco is actually part of a larger new commercial development called The Crossroads at Coeur d' Alene. And there is more then just Winco coming to the development, here is what else to expect in the next few months...
Chase Bank
The mega bank , Chase Bank will build a new branch in the development on the southwest corner of the project site. No building permits have been filed as of yet but construction is expected to start in the near future.
No word on whether or not it will keep open it's other Coeur d' Alene branch. That branch is located inside the apparel side of Fred Meyer.
Jack in the Box
Jack in the Box is also coming to the Crossroads at Coeur d' Alene development with a new restaurant close to the new Chase Bank in the southwest corner of the project.
Just like with Chase Bank also Jack in the Box has not yet received building permits but construction is expected in the near future. Also there is no word on what will happen to the Jack in the Box currently at the corner of Ironwood and N. Government Way about 2 miles or so away from the Crossroads site.
Rumors abound....
Also many rumors about the site have swirled around, here are the ones I have heard but have not been able to confirm...
Jiffy Stop gas station / c-store
Cracker Barrel
Harbor Freight Tools
The Cracker Barrel rumor could be true because it is so strong and a lot of people seem to have heard it, but yet still no official word. But it does seem like Coeur d' Alene will get a Cracker Barrel sometime at someplace ( sorry, I can't help more...)

The site...
The Crossroads at Coeur d' Alene is planned for the corner of Ramsey Rd. and Appleway , by I-90's Northwest Blvd. exit. The site will be anchored by Winco which as was previously mentioned is now under construction.
A variety of other pad sites are planned around the Winco store with some attached retail space also on the site plan. Winco is scheduled to open in the spring of 2014, no word on opening dates for any of the other planned businesses.
