The new building's master plan calls a 3 story building with 6000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor with all commercial space facing the street and just like the rest of the Kendall Yards project will favor local shops and businesses. The upper 2 floors of space will be apartments that will be rented out and geared towards young professionals. The residential floors will have 24 apartment units and will offer 1 bedroom and studio apartments.
The new building will also bring with it a new parking area. A 150 space parking facility will be constructed on the north end of the new building. This parking facility will be shared between the new building and other future restaurant / office tenants nearby.
Construction is underway and occupancy is expected for the Summer of 2014.
Much more is new or coming soon to the Kendall Yards project. Many new residences and town homes are planned , as are 3 new locally owned restaurants. Work is underway to relocate the Centennial Trail thru the project and the developers are still actively seeking a grocery store tenant.
