Confirmed- Rosauers to open store in Suncrest

If you read Inland Northwest Business Watch often ( and why wouldn't you! ), you'll know I had posted about the potential for a new Rosauers Supermarket in Suncrest / Lake Spokane area. And thanks to another area blog we had basically almost confirmed it as true even.

But now it's officially been confirmed and we have even gathered some additional information on this new grocery store coming later this year.

Construction is underway at the site of the new Rosauers and an opening is tentatively planned to happen in the fall of this year. The site , where the store will be, is nearby Lakeside High School at 5912 State Route 291.

The new store will be a new smaller store concept for the locally based Rosauers Supermarket chain with about 32,000 square feet of space. The smaller store is based on the smaller community that will be served by this new location. But, while the store is smaller it will include some features that are exciting and not seen at other Rosauers stores.

Those new store features will include a gas station, the first of it's kind for the grocery chain and a seating area this is intended to be used as a community center. Also, the store will feature all of the regular grocery store departments and service counters.

In part of the deal to open this new store, Rosauers will take over operations of the Suncrest community's Suncrest Supermarket & Deli a smaller grocery store located nearby the new store's site. That store will be closed once the new Rosauers opens it doors.

Rosauers Supermarkets is Spokane based company, owned by parent company URM Stores,Inc. also of Spokane. The chain operates 16 stores and employees over 2,000.
