New scrach bakery called Twenty-Seventh Heaven planned on the South Hill

Although they do have a way's to go before they swing open their doors, an exciting new scratch bakery with several different types of breads and heavenly coffee cake is in the works along Grand Ave. on the South Hill.

Local entrepreneur and Navy Veteran Lydia Cowles is developing the business which will be called Twenty-Seventh Heaven and if all goes well and leases are completed they will open later this year at 1220 S. Grand Suite A . The bakery has an active campaign on Indiegogo to help complete the process of opening and buying equipment, etc... . I would recommend checking into the project at-

Twenty Seventh Heaven will bake everything from scratch using as many local ingredients as possible . It is to have a retro / modern type feel with a vintage hand painted open / closed sign , sample kraft boxes and bakers twine for to go orders, although there will also be some indoor dining as well.

The bakery will specialize in their heavenly coffee cake and will also have fresh breads in many different flavors and cupcakes in a good selection of flavors. Coffee will be available along with a few other " select " beverages.

We will keep an eye out for their opening date, and for now more information can be found on their Facebook page at-
