Spokane Humane Society opens new pet adoption center inside Petsmart

Starting this weekend , there is a new place in Spokane to adopt a cat or a dog . That place is actually a joint venture of sorts between the Spokane Humane Society and Petsmart's not for profit Petsmart Charities division.

The new venture is an in store pet adoption center at the North Spokane Petsmart in Northpointe Plaza just north of the Y. The address at the store is 9950 N. Newport Hwy. Spokane . The new space is actually already open and has been for a couple of weeks but this weekend marks the adoption center's official grand opening.

A formal grand opening celebration will be held inside of Petsmart tomorrow ( Sat. Oct. 26th ) from 10:00am till 8:00pm , prizes and half price adoptions will be available through out the grand opening and KZZU will do a live radio remote at the site from 11am till 1pm.

The new adoption center can house 38 dogs and cats at a time , all in large spaces as opposed to compact cages. The new adoption center also Free's up space for other pet's back at the Spokane Humane Society's main location , which is also still open, at 6607 N. Havana St in Spokane.

The new Spokane Humane Society / Petsmart Charities " Dog & Cat Everyday Adoption Center" is open whenever the main store is open. Store hours are Monday thru Saturday 9-9 and Sunday 10-6.
